For Schools

Learn Through Dance is a school partnership program that brings Afro-Latin dance, culture, and learning into classrooms.

Unlike HSTF’s youth enrollment programs, Learn Through Dance is arranged directly with schools and educators.

FOR SCHOOLS

In-class Afro-Latin dance instruction

HSTF’s Learn Through Dance program brings weekly, in-class, hour-long Afro-Latin dance instruction to students at local Boston Public Schools as part of the school day.

Students explore culturally relevant, age-appropriate, and physically engaging Afro-Latin dance styles such as merengue, bachata, and salsa. Along the way, they connect with Afro-Latin culture by learning about the social, cultural, and historical influences that shaped these traditional dance forms.
